But in return, 3.5 new locations were added to Kings Canyon: the Condenser, a giant location connected to the Wraith territory, some kind of annex on the edge of the map (no one knows what it’s called), a recycler on the site of the destroyed map and secret bunkers that will open. and you’ll find out for yourself when, and what will happen there, if you read, of course.I can’t say anything about the recycler and the incomprehensible crap, well, the houses are like houses, well, with several tiers (like everything in the apex).But the capacitor, following from its name, condensed in itself one of the innovations: Charging towers, which, also following from its name, charged the special skills of all legends that fell within the range of action. The innovation allowed you to throw several ultimates at once, which gave a tactical advantage. But the tower may not be charged, and then it takes time to activate it. To put it simply: they added interactivity, and interactivity increases the tactical potential.
The place in the hearts of ordinary players that was empty due to the destruction of the map was taken by Loba. Tolley because of his gigantic ass. ahem, si. hmm, models, roofing felts because of their abilities. The new character allowed you to relax: you don’t need to take risks for the sake of loot, because every minute you can take any two items in the nearest area, and there is also an unlimited amount of ammunition.Her tactical ability is a non-skill dependent replacement for Pathfinder’s grappling hook, even better in some ways, but slower. A passive ability will allow you to relax your brain again and not think about where it is better to place your ultimate: Loba sees all objects above the third level, in the same radius as the ultimate itself. And finally, she will help you relax even outside the game. It’s a pity that only on certain sites.
There were no new weapons in season five. The developers said that: "We will not add new weapons, because then there will be too many of them". Okay, let’s see what you have to say in season six.
The plot is worth mentioning last but not least. The fifth season is the best in terms of plot. It revealed the relationship between the legends, added several PVE missions against the “dogs” and most importantly set the direction for the entire next plot of the apex. To unlock story quests you had to collect treasure sets in the game every day. For each set of treasures a reward was given: a weapon keychain, a case, some experience. And for every fifth set, a story chapter and mission were opened. All missions were “Take and Bring” quests: you go somewhere to do something there, pick something up and come back. This thing happened on the map of the Halloween event, more about which you can find out here, but simply, this is the night version of the Canyon of the Kings from the second season.
Perhaps it was precisely because of the plot that the fifth season came out so cheerful, because only one full-fledged event was added this season: “Lost Treasures”. The new mode turned out to be “Armed and Dangerous”, albeit slightly modified: instead of normal armor, only EVO (improves with damage and has a different volume), there are no revival beacons, instead of them there are mobile revival beacons. Mobile beacons were called using a special object, and in the shortest possible time, with a roar as if someone’s mother had fallen, the beacon flew from the sky. Naturally, it was impossible to call him under the roof. They were later added to normal mode, but almost no one used them. There were enough ordinary beacons on the map, but no one wanted to attract even more attention to themselves. They could come in handy in the last phase of the game, when there are no beacons in the vicinity, and enemies are already at the doorstep. Although spending an extra slot in the inventory for such a situational thing. Controversial innovation, very controversial. Although in Armed and Dangerous itself the beacons felt better, for lack of a better alternative. Game mode remains almost unchanged, even with EVO armor.All the same ratting and running from sniper bullets ("Armed and Dangerous" was an ordinary game, in which the only weapons were snipers and shotguns, more details again in the first part of my epic). But the new location turned out to be extremely good. The best of the territories captured by legends. I can use memes from the last part? In any case, Loka added an interactive feature, allowing you to scan the entire map, like Bloodhound, for the location of enemies and the location of the next ring. Absolutely all enemies. And absolutely ALL enemies heard the activation of this satellite dish, which is in many ways for the better. Why go to your enemies if they themselves will come to you soon??
Towards the end of the event, I won’t say the exact dates, secret bunkers with loot and pieces of Crypto lore began to open. This even livened up the game a little, because lore in an online game is just as important as lore in DOOM. I probably don’t understand this.
To avoid getting bored at the end of the season, we were given an ever-shrinking ring. The mode is certainly good, it didn’t allow you to sit still for a long time and all that, but they could have at least screwed in a couple more gamemods, for the sake of decency.
The fifth season survived only thanks to the plots. Although if there were no plot, then there would be more events. In the next season, for example, they neglected the normal plot a bit and added more content that you can play.
Season 6:
Season six, well, not clear. As I already said, the respawns decided to concentrate not on the plot, but on in-game content. After such a masterpiece of lore in the fifth season, comics with poor art caused dissatisfaction among players. Of course, it’s bad that developers can’t give players enough content, especially when more and more players come.
The changes to the map were small, but they brought (although they also took away) a lot of interactivity. So two metal fortresses were added between the mountains; the walls of these fortresses could rise, but, like everything in Apex, this happened with incredible noise. When you urgently need an escape route, you will have to wait until the walls are built, because the entire map will hear their use before the battle. Although in most cases, especially if you are being pushed, this opportunity will be useful to you: the walls not only opened the way through them, but also partially blocked the path on the ground. It’s a pity that there was no such interactivity at the Launch Pad location. The location is like a location, multi-tiered and large, but it didn’t bring anything fundamentally new to the game. I would also like to salute the removed Mirage ship from season three, we won’t forget you. Like all the interactivity and fun that you brought us.

So the developers decided to create another way to get loot, as if regular loot wasn’t enough. The developers did not encourage an aggressive playstyle. It’s like they want to make this game a hunter simulator, sit back, craft new equipment and wait for prey. Oh well, it would be possible to create everything, but no, a strictly limited set of things. Some of the items in this kit were changed once a day or a week, but who cares if the thing you need could have been changed 10 minutes ago. It would be better if you could choose what to make from all the things, but some of these things will be discounted. This would look especially good with the ability to knock out materials from enemies, but we have what we have. To be fair, I will say that consumables can always be made very useful.
Shouting about his mother like a doter, a new legend Rampart appeared at the apex games. And it turned out to be just as situational as the crafting system. Yes, its fences can be useful during long firefights, and a machine gun, for example, when meeting enemies on a narrow passage. But if you use its walls to sit in the house, you will get a good cosplay of Jews in 1933. The machine gun has a strictly limited viewing angle, in addition, Sheila is a stationary machine gun, so no matter what damage numbers it gives out, three people will still have time to shoot you. So Rampart’s ultimate is also easy to break. Of all the abilities of the legend of the sixth season, the passive one was relatively good. Light machine guns already had plenty of ammunition, so here there are even more of them. You don’t want 40 rounds for one magazine at the very beginning of the game? Well, seriously, such a clip with proper accuracy can kill an entire squad, and if there is no accuracy, then crush the enemy with cartridges. Personally, I would crap myself if one person shot at me without a break for about 15 seconds
You could also crap yourself from the new weapon. High damage, low recoil, good stock magazine – a complete set of imba guns. Unless the problem was in the cartridges, because the new Volt submachine gun required an incredible amount of energy ammunition, which, by the way, was always difficult to find. The worst thing about this weapon was its sounds, instead of a ringing shot, you can only hear a fading “psh”. It’s like this gun is from Aliexpress. And naturally, if this is a submachine gun, then its range is designed for close combat.
The new weapon was clearly not designed for the new amount of armor. In the sixth season, all regular shields were removed and replaced with EVO. Now each person immediately landed with level zero EVO armor and could immediately upgrade to a higher level., but now each level was the same in volume as its predecessor (that is, level 2 was like the first, the third was like the second and beyond). This had a great impact on the dynamics of the game, battles became shorter and more dynamic, now it was not necessary to look for suitable armor, you could improve it yourself. It’s a pity that the volume change was rolled back almost immediately. It is clear that the developers did not want the sissies to leave the game.
So that we don’t miss the new amount of armor, Respawn Entertainment has given us four old modes from the Evening Party, rotating every week. Kings Canyon at Night: Kings Canyon at night, as the name suggests; This mode doesn’t bring anything new except for changing the day on the map. Armed and Dangerous: Apparently, this is the favorite mode, or gag, of respawners; the same mode as in the "Lost Treasures" event, except that there were normal spawn beacons there. The Big Day of the Dolls, or the destruction of the very concept of Apex; Well, why the hell replace abilities with some random crap in a team battle royale?? I don’t understand their logic, it means they don’t want to add a solo mode, but they added this crap; Moreover, both solo and big doll day destroy team play. Yes, in the Big Day of the Dolls you still play in a team and interact with your allies at the level of standard mutual assistance, and not synergy of abilities,. The last one was Live, Die and Again, and it’s much better than the last three. At the beginning of each new round, all deceased legends from the remaining units were revived. And were reborn with a set of equipment. All this allows you to play much more aggressively: don’t think about reviving your allies, return yourself; when reviving, do not run to look for weapons, but immediately go into battle. 5.5 out of 10 for the “event”, if you can call it that. It’s good that the sixth season had at least one full-fledged event. The "Re-equipment" event brought standard innovations to the game: a new mode, free and paid skins, and that’s about it.If you think about it, this is very little, but new modes have always added novelty to the game, especially if you take into account the new fetish of the developers – removing the regular game, leaving only the rating and a modified game mode. So the “Hotbed of Danger” mode, as I already said, replaced the public. Surprisingly, the mode avoided the problem of snipers – in the new mode there were no healing items, and instead, points, pockets of danger appeared on Kings Canyon, where health is restored automatically and gradually. But only the hotbeds evaporated after each round and immediately after new ones appeared (as if in a set), people with balls of steel appeared there, without snipers and these gay things. Without snipers because the pockets of danger were small, which means that in order to survive there you need to fight in close combat. I should say that snipers in close combat are calla? Needless to say, the snipers were in an awkward position – to get there you either need to kill everyone with a sniper, but how can you do this if only your enemies can be treated and soon you will have no health left?. Or go in and solve everything like a man, in close combat. Not bad Respawn, not bad.
Halloween! In the apex, as in life, it’s time to shit yourself. And it doesn’t matter why, but it is advisable to do this to the players about the coolness of the event, and not to the developers with the event. Well, this time they did it again, an incredible new mode made even old pilots return to the game, because running on walls! Well, the mode itself was again a game mod with shadows, only this time the players were in teams, when one team member died, he was reincarnated into a shadow that could already run along the walls, and the shadows had a double jump, and the shadows were reborn after death (but only until the start of the last round, or until all team members die). True, the shadows could only fight with their hands, and they didn’t have shields, just like the skills of the legends. If 2 people died, a lap dog was given. All this led to very long firefights: it was much more profitable not to finish off knocked down enemies, because they would return in the form of a shadow and would take revenge on you until you took the rope and soap yourself. And if you don’t finish off the knocked down enemies, they will soon be raised and you will have to fight them again. Or take some rope and soap. More often than not, after one of your teammates gets knocked down, experienced players simply start pushing you. The choice most often put average and inexperienced players in a very unpleasant position. Although this turned out to be a new experience for everyone and all that. 9 out of 10 for wall running.
Even though PVE missions remain, but in the sixth season quests appeared, like click something, kill so many enemies and get a reward. The NPC giving these quests was the following legend Horizon. Horizon’s homeland was the flying metropolis of Olympus, and in order to get there the rocket at the Launch Pad location began its departure at the end of the season. Of course, there were some adventures, poor Bloodhound probably had a heart attack from such technologies, and Rampart ruined her clothes, but these are details.
Season 7:
Even such a chain of thoughts turned out to be higher than the Megalopolis Olympus, which turned out to be not a metropolis at all, but, now seriously, 5 skyscrapers (on which only 2 floors could be used), several wealthy areas, 3 teleports across the entire map, a bunch of those.zones and lawn. And this is what they call the most luxurious city in the Outlands. Just think, he flies, although this is probably what most of the kicks on the map were connected with, when you or your allies jumped into the void due to ignorance of the map. The second part of the cakes was created by driving the added “Trident” cars. One day I decided to fly over the abyss, pressed nitro and. ruined the whole squad. It’s their own fault that they got into the car with me, so what if I don’t know how to drive and want to die?? Be that as it may, the map turned out to be large, and cars always helped in movement.In general, the cars turned out to be really useful, you could also put some items on them: Sheila machine gun, Gibraaltar shield, caustic traps, Lifeline drone. In addition, if you are sitting in a car, and they shoot not directly at you, but at the car, then a small part of the damage was done. But this damage was caused to everyone sitting in the car. If you think that the Trident did not react to its surroundings, then you are wrong. The trident bounced on Octane’s trampoline, turned off if it passed through Wattson’s electric fence, took off on the gravity elevator of the new legend Horizon.
Although that wasn’t the point of the gravity elevator. The ability of the seventh season legend Horizon lifted you up, you could stay at the top if you needed to and fall when the elevator ended, or jump off. The elevator gave a slight push in this case. But the ultimate was much more interesting. Of course, a black hole is much more interesting than some kind of lift. Legend quickly entered the meta thanks to his mobility and his black hole. You could easily gain height, then jump and immediately go on the attack, because the passive allowed you not to wait for the fall animation to end. The black hole could stop the pushing of enemies, or push and throw grenades at enemies in the singularity. Some mobile legends like Loba, Wraith or Horizon herself could get out of the limited area of effect of the season seven legend’s ultimate. Horizon greatly revitalized the game and even changed the meta, which hasn’t happened since the second season. It’s true, the game has been missing a “Milf” tab for a long time (Horizon, by the way, is already 37, well, give or take another 88 years).
How happy I am, how glad I was, the “Winter Express” mode was added to the game again for the New Year. More and better information about this mode in the first part. But quickly, this is similar to capture the flag from other games, only here it’s a train capture. The train naturally moves and when the winter express stops you need to either remain alone on the train for a long enough time, or kill two enemy squads. So three times and the match is yours. "Winter Express is the only mode that completely deviates from the battle royale concept. And he’s good at it.
But for the “Cargo Escalation” mode, it turned out poorly, even in comparison with other modes, except for “Winter Express”. Again, the amount of loot doesn’t change the game, but the developers don’t care about that. During the "Cargo Escalation" supplies were delivered to the map in large quantities. The quality of loot supplies improved with each round. In theory, half the server should come running for these supplies, but this did not happen. And the idea is good, the problem is that most people died before supplies appeared, and some simply did not want to take risks for the sake of average production at the beginning. And in the end, good loot is no longer needed, everyone is already looted. But if there were enough people in the locations near the supplies, then the messes were colossal. Whether there were conflicts or not, the best innovation of the “Night of Battle” event remained the new captured territories. This time the lands went to Pathfinder. If anyone doesn’t know, the cheerful robot’s relic turned out to be boxing gloves. And as if that wasn’t enough, Respawn Entertainment decided to give the metal Mike Tyson a whole ring. Location Night Fight – the most amazing location in the game. In the occupied territories there is a ring protected from outside influences, where you can neither shoot nor use skills. Only fists, it’s time to learn to at least fight, I still don’t know how to shoot. Best interactivity ever added to a game. It’s a shame that players don’t want to fight on it. No matter how much I tried to challenge enemies to a fair fight, in the end I still died from three. Sad, but the location is good.
Somewhere in this time period an in-game casino appeared on the map. Broken robots were scattered around the map, which could give a good one, but only gave a bad one. But if you break such a robot, its hand sometimes falls out. Take this hand to the same robot and you will get guaranteed good loot.
There was a plot in the seventh season? Even so, the change of season was not justified in any way. Although the developers cannot be blamed for this: the eighth season turned out to be quite large-scale in terms of changes on the map, and the seventh season did not disappoint. Although it’s a pity, of course, that we won’t see high-quality PVE in this game anymore. Well, the plot is a little unfortunate too.
Season 8:
There was no normal transition at the apex, and I won’t have one. During the greeting of the sixteenth Apex legend, the ship near which the procession was taking place was torn to pieces. This almost completely changed the entire northernmost part of the location. One new location and one new one were added: the destroyed ship itself and the cleaning dam. You won’t say enough? I will say that the ship stretched from one edge of the map to the other. The gameplay was especially enjoyable at the crash site itself: there are many corridors and cables next to the ship. The entire location near the ship consists of several futuristic multi-story houses and. and that’s all. Surprisingly, it is quite easy to drive away snipers who have taken a position on the ship: it is impossible to keep track of all the passages at once. But the semblance of a dam, which for some reason was called “Spotted Lakes” in the game, is very multi-tiered but small, like my skill. The changed location is a pair of two and three storey houses, a space under a dam and redone transitions to other parts of the map. By the way, the boat itself made another passage. If we talk about general map changes, then here and there towers were added that rose just like walls (those from the changes of the sixth season); and capsules with loot, they could be opened using any grenade, but then the entire lobby would know where you are. Every season there is more and more interactivity, but something really big has brought a couple of changes to the game. But piece by piece, piece by piece, there are more and more opportunities.
A new legend, befitting its appearance, blew everything up. Of course, a cassette knuckle, or more simply put, a sticky fragmentation grenade, although it does not cause damage immediately, is much faster than Caustic gas, and doors can be hacked this way. The second ability of the sixteenth legend Fuse is a ring of fire, which deals quite a lot of damage if crossed, although it can be jumped over. Even if this ring does not cover the same area as Bangalore or Gibraltar, it can be used in a house and set fire to everyone there, including yourself. Passive ability allows you to carry more grenades with you, and turns them into a third full-fledged weapon. And life would be paradise if not for Wattson. Although, on the other hand, it’s good that at least one legend counters grenades, otherwise Fuse would not have been added to the game.
New weapons – nothing. This is literally the worst replacement for one of the game’s guns. Yes, it has a charging system, when while aiming the damage increases over time. But because of this, the rate of fire of the new rifle decreases, and it can’t be slower. This function can only be used for the first shot. In close combat there is no new weapon – a small magazine, reloading one cartridge at a time will make you a walking target. The same can be said about the average distance. Perhaps someone just finds it more pleasant to shoot from a slow gun. But I think it’s not worth it, the new weapon has no advantages over others, it is literally the worst among all assault rifles. But well, this is not the only change in the weapon part of the game. Level 4 extended magazines were reloaded automatically if you had another gun in your hands. But such a reload takes much longer, so this can only be of great benefit to machine guns with their incredible magazine capacity – by the time you shoot everything, the second reload will take place.
The completely new event “Chaos Theory” is almost no different from the others: replacing public pages with a different game mode, skins and a new location on the map. But there is something special: a new, as they are now called, survival item. The heat shield blocks damage from the ring in a limited circle, speeds up the use of medicine and the recovery of allies from knockout, it’s a pity that this is all temporary (and the more damage from the ring, the less the heat shield works). The developers have added a special slot for a heat shield (and a mobile revival beacon). And it’s good that they added it – this thing turned out to be really useful, with it you can no longer be so afraid of rings, but not so useful that you spend a separate slot for it. Of course, a pack of cartridges and or a grenade will help you not die in battle, but you can simply run away from the zone.
In the new mode, it was much more difficult to escape from the zones – in addition to the ring itself, ring flashes (small zones) appear on the map every round. Ring flashes cause damage to the ring and they appear randomly, and Every five days the method of flashes appearing changes: either completely randomly, or in the center of the map/zone, or all together. The second method was the worst, it literally just made the map smaller – there is no point in flying to where there is already a zone. In a couple of games you can already learn where to go and avoid these places. But if we talk about the entire event, then it’s clear why it was added in the kit along with the heat shield. Fresh mode is an excellent testing ground for heat shields. Surprisingly, when mobile respawn beacons were added, respawns also created conditions for their use. Smart move.
A new independent variable, because the old ones began to cause too little damage – turned out to be Caustic’s laboratory. Greta Thunberg didn’t appreciate it: this thing smokes all over the map like vapers from 2k17, and in addition there are a lot of toxins (even more than in your character). But in general, capsules with good loot protect toxins. To open the capsules and pump out the toskins, you need to press one of two buttons. The main thing is to have time to pick up the loot, otherwise it will hurt. The location itself turned out to be quite spacious: just a couple of doors and closed rooms. Caustic wouldn’t like it.
So far these are all the changes of the eighth season, and there is also a plot, but it is the same as in the seventh and sixth seasons, that is, shit. Although new chapters of the comic will be released on March 30, and if there is something interesting, I will definitely let you know. But who needs me here?.
Sometimes it seems to me that the developers are going in the wrong direction: they are constantly improving snipers and encouraging passive play, as if they want to attract the audience from other royal battles. It’s a pity that they don’t understand that there is plenty of this in other games. These actions of Respawn Entertainment are killing the main feature of Apex – its dynamics. And often it seems to me that respawns are complete idiots. It’s like they don’t see how the servers burn and crash when they add something fast and action-packed to the game. It’s good that there aren’t many such changes, and when leaving the game you can still say: “I was destroyed, I was torn apart and put back together again.”. And the main thing is that you should never be able to say: “Not a bad hunting simulator”.
